The Voluntary Social Year of Politics in Saxony
In addition to the well-known FSJ in kindergartens, retirement homes or other social institutions, young people between the ages of 16 and 26 have the opportunity to complete a year in the political field. The FSJ-P allows you to experience politics up close and gives you the opportunity to do something instead of just complaining. Insights into processes, active work with young people as well as the promotion of tolerance and respect are gained through this program.

Places of assignment for the FSJ-P
There are more than 30 volunteer sites scattered throughout Saxony that deal with political events in a variety of ways. Depending on their interests, they are offered the opportunity to work in memorial sites, associations, state ministries or municipal administrations, for example. In addition, 25 exciting educational days are held with all FSJ trainees during the year, including a trip to the capital Berlin. Peggy Stockhowe, the program manager of the Saxon Youth Foundation, provides support from the application onwards and is available as a contact person alongside the mentors at the places of assignment.
Framework data for the FSJ-P
Starting on the first of September, the FSJ-P usually lasts 12 months. Multiple participation in this program is not permitted. Volunteers receive €380 a month in pocket money, insurance cover and discounts on entrance fees and public transport.
