Anti-racist cycling tour

Together with the Ausländerrat, we are participating in an anti-racist cycling tour held as part of the Intercultural Weeks in Dresden.
On this cycling tour, we will not only visit several memorial sites in Dresden that explicitly commemorate racist events of the past, but also take a critical look at the present in our city.
Where can we find traces of colonial structures, and how do they continue to have an impact today? What happened in Dresden during the so-called “baseball bat years”? How do anti-Roma racism and poverty reinforce one another? What is the situation regarding anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim racism — and how does it affect those targeted by it?
Representatives from several Dresden-based initiatives will talk about the current situation and introduce their work.
Meeting Point: Mobi-Punkt, Schlesischer Platz.
Cycling tour: approx. 5 kilometres, 7 stops, approx. 2 hours.
Participation is at your own risk. Participants are responsible for their own bicycle, equipment and rainproof clothing, as well as for complying with the German Road Traffic Regulations.
