On this tour, we use tablets and the “Actionbound” app to visit places in Dresden that played a central role in the fall of the GDR in 1989. Through small missions, the young people learn more about the events that continue to shape Dresden to this day.
The tour can be combined with a preparatory and follow-up workshop, lasting 270 minutes in total, in order to provide more historical context and create a broader connection to the present day.

To experience history and politics where they take place and to engage in dialogue with decision-makers, we organise study trips to centres of political power in Berlin and Brussels.
We are also happy to organise new study trips to other places in Germany that are interesting for young people.

We plan and organise visits to memorial sites in Buchenwald / Weimar and Theresienstadt / Terezín. For this, we cooperate with the Association of Friends of the Buchenwald Memorial and the volunteers of Action Reconciliation Service for Peace.
Before visiting the memorial site, the young people are prepared for the visit through our workshop “Right-Wing Extremism and National Socialism”. We also offer a follow-up workshop after the memorial site visit, where the young people’s questions can be addressed.

For many years, we have been organising international youth exchanges with different partners. Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Spain, Georgia – these are some of the partner countries with which we have carried out projects in recent years.
The youth exchanges are usually organised in such a way that one exchange takes place in Dresden and another in the partner cities. The content of the individual exchanges varies greatly. Historical commonalities, current political issues such as European values, human rights and freedom of expression, minorities, biographies and urban development are just some examples.
We also offer young people who are actively involved the opportunity – with sufficient preparation time – to develop and implement their own youth exchange projects.

Our “Start a Movement” workshop on “Democracy and Participation” focuses on our system of government and the opportunities it offers people to participate in political life.
Starting from their own topics and concerns, the young people develop a political campaign designed to bring their issues into political decision-making as effectively as possible.
