Multimediatour Nationalsocialism

Multimediatour Nationalsocialism

Using tablets and the mobile app “Actionbound”, we set out to find places in the city that bear witness to the terror of National Socialism around 70 years ago. In addition to important phases of the dictatorship, we will focus in particular on the biographies of victims who lived in the Südvorstadt district at the time.

The tour can be combined with a preparatory and follow-up workshop, lasting 270 minutes in total, in order to provide more historical context and create a broader connection to the present day. With sufficient preparation time, we can also create a tour near your institution.

Extremism

Extremism

In our workshop on extremism, we explore together with young people a topic that has become increasingly relevant and sensitive again in recent years.

The aims are to:

  • introduce young people to the basic principles of democracy and raise awareness of threats to this form of government;
  • discuss the phenomenon of extremism, the actors associated with it, and the supposed appeal of extremist groups;
  • examine the role of the internet in radicalisation and in the networking of extremists, as well as discuss possible ways to respond.

On request, the workshop can also address the topic of populism.

Social Media – Life Online

Social Media – Life Online

In our workshop on social media, we explore together with young people the risks and opportunities of the internet as a “new medium” and reflect on the participants’ own media use.

In addition to the protection of personal data and the topic of cyberbullying, the workshop focuses on dealing with hateful comments. Other phenomena, such as the power of algorithms and fake news, are also addressed.
Depending on the age group, the content is adapted in consultation with the educational staff.

The aims are to:

  • to show young people the significant change that has taken place in media use from newspapers to Web 2.0 / social media
  • to reflect with young people on their own use of Web 2.0 / Internet use
  • to show young people the dangers and pitfalls as well as useful possibilities of the Internet

Multimediatour Political Participation

Multimediatour Political Participation

There are many ways to participate in a democracy, whether as a member of a political party or as a participant in a demonstration. But even in dictatorships, people strive to influence political decisions, sometimes risking their lives in the process. During our tour, we use local examples in Dresden’s city centre to examine and discuss different forms of political participation. We use the Actionbound app. The tour lasts around 90 to 120 minutes and can also be combined with a workshop if desired. Tablets are provided by us.
Film Clubs – Step Out of Your Bubble

Film Clubs – Step Out of Your Bubble

A film club is a group of young people who organise film screenings and follow-up discussions for other young people in their free time.
The films deal with topics such as discrimination, racism, climate protection, forced migration and asylum, sexual and gender diversity, equality, and much more.

Each film club can access our film pool, choose a film and invite others to watch it together.
They also invite a discussion guest who can answer questions after the film. This guest might be an expert on the topic, a political activist, an artist, or someone who is or has been personally affected by discrimination.

Each film club is supported by a mentor. They meet regularly.
